Entry Fees, Contest Rules, Species and Payouts vary from lake to lake and from week to week. Watch The NWMI Fishing Club’s Facebook page or website for up-to-date contest details every week. All event changes will be at the discretion of the Tournament Director.

FEBRUARY 2023:
Sat and Sun, 18&19FEB (Free Fishing Weekend) – Interlochness #8: Open to the Public. John- Lead, 3 county ice or open water tournament. 5 divisions paying 3 places each division. Registration at Long Lake Grocery, 9374 N. Long Lake Road. $20 per division.
APRIL 2023:
Fri and Sat, 28&29APR, Kalkaska Trout Festival, Kid’s Fishing Pond, Fire Station, 209 Laurel St. – Mike Lead.
MAY 2023:
Wed, 03MAY, Lake Cadillac/Mitchell – Spanky Lead, lines in from 6-9pm, $10 per person, registration begins at 5pm at the Kenwood Road Launch. Kid’s 16 and under free. Be in line at the ramp to load out no later than 915pm. Paying 1st place for the heaviest 1-man bag of crappie (minimum 7’), and paying 1st place for the heaviest single walleye. At least one person in each boat must be a member-memberships available at registration ($20 for 1 year). No charters or professional fishermen…this is an amateur event for an amateur to win. Charter Captains and Professionals can fish if this is not their home waters and they are a member.
Wed, 10MAY, Leland-Maxine Lead, Lines in 6-9pm, $10 per person, registration begins at 5pm at the Leland Public Marina, be in line at the ramp to load out no later than 915pm.
Paying 1st 2nd, and 3rd place for the heaviest box of two 2 Lake Trout. Everyone receives a raffle ticket at registration for a chance at additional prizes at weigh in, Kid’s 16 and under free, $20 side bet for heaviest fish. No charters or professional fishermen…this is an amateur event for an amateur to win. Charter Captains and Professionals can fish if this is not their home waters and they are a member.
Wed, 17MAY, Long Lake, Maxine Lead, Lines in 6-10pm, $10 per person, registration begins at 5pm at the Crescent Shores Launch. Kid’s 16 and under free. Be in line at the ramp to load out no later than 1015pm. Paying the 1st place for the heaviest single Walleye and paying 1st place for the heaviest bag of perch (9” minimum). At least one person in each boat must be a member-memberships available at registration ($20 for 1 year). No charters or professional fishermen…this is an amateur event for an amateur to win. Wed, 24MAY, Elk Rapids East Bay – Maxine Lead, Lines in 6-9pm, $10 per person, registration begins at 5pm at the Elk Rapids Public Marina, be in line at the ramp to load out no later than 915pm. Paying 1st 2nd, and 3rd place for the combined heaviest box of two 2 Lake Trout and up to 10 Ciscoes. Everyone receives a raffle ticket at registration for a chance at additional prizes at weigh in, Kid’s 16 and under free, $20 side bet for heaviest fish. Sat, 27MAY, Cisco in the Crisco, Elk Rapids East Bay – Open to the Public. Lines in at 8am to 12pm, 10$ per person registration begins at 7am at the Elk Rapids Public Marina Boat Launch, be at the ramp to take out no later than 1215pm. A fried fresh cisco lunch after the weigh in – everyone invited. Everyone receives a raffle ticket at registration for a chance at additional prizes at weigh in. Cisco: Paying 1st place for the heaviest 1-man bag (up to ten Cisco) and the coveted bi-annual plaque. Lake Trout: Paying 1st place for the heaviest 1-man bag (up to two lakers). Kid’s 16 and under free, $20 side bet for heaviest fish. No charters or professional fishermen…this is an amateur event for an amateur to win. Charter Captains and Professionals can fish if this is not their home waters and they are a member.
JUNE:
Wed, 07JUN, Lime Lake, Leelanau County – Maxine Lead, Lines in 6-9pm, $10 per person registration begins at 5pm at the DNR Boat Ramp on S. Maple City Road, be in line at the launch to take out no later than 915pm. Paying 1st place for the heaviest one silver fish (All salmon types, steelhead, brown trout). Paying 1st place for the heaviest bag of up to 5 panfish (minimum 7”) and paying 1st place for CPR (Catch Photo Release) for any legal bass.

Sat, 10JUN, Lake Dubonnet Family Day – Maxine Lead, Open to the Public, Free Fishing Weekend. Matt & Maxine Lead, 8-1130am, cook out at noon, heaviest mixed 1-man bag of panfish and/or pike (no bass). You can keep 5 pike with only 1 being over 24” long.
Wed, 14JUN, Platte Lake-Maxine Lead, Lines in 6-10pm, $10 per person, registration begins at 5pm at the Arborvitae Road Launch. Kid’s 16 and under free. Be in line at the ramp to load out no later than 1015pm. Paying 1st place for the heaviest single walleye. Paying 1st place for the heaviest single Pike. Be in line at the ramp to take out no later than 945pm. Lake Trout: Paying 1st place for the heaviest 1-man bag (up to three lakers). Perch: Paying 1st place for the heaviest 1-man bag (up to 25 perch, 8” minimum size limit). At least one person in each boat must be a member-memberships available at registration ($20 for 1 year). No charters or professional fishermen…this is an amateur event for an amateur to win. Charter Captains and Professionals can fish if this is not their home waters and they are a member.
JULY:
Wed, 12JUL, Little Traverse Lake – Tim Lead, Lines in 6-930pm, $10 per person registration begins at 5pm at the Boat Ramp on W. Traverse Lake Road, be in line at the launch to take out no later than 945pm. Paying 1st place for the heaviest one Pike. Paying 1st place for the heaviest bag of up to 5 panfish (minimum 8”) and paying 1st place for CPR (Catch Photo Release) for any legal bass. Kid’s 16 and under free. at least one person in each boat must be a member-memberships available at registration ($20 for 1 year). Wed, 19JUL, Crystal Lake – Maxine Lead, lines in from 6-930pm, $10 registration per person begins at 5pm at the DNR Launch off of M-115 and Molineux Road. Be in line at the ramp to take out no later than 945pm. Lake Trout and Silver Fish: Paying 1st place for the heaviest combined box of Laker and any salmonid silver fish. Paying 1st place for the heaviest mixed bag of 10 panfish (9” minimum perch, no minimum size on Rock Bass, 8” minimum Bluegill, no smallmouth/largemouth bass). Everyone receives a raffle ticket at registration for a chance at additional prizes at weigh in. Kid’s 16 and under free. One member in each boat must be a club member ($20 annual membership fee available at registration). No charters or professional fishermen…this is an amateur event for an amateur to win. Paying 1st 2nd, and 3rd place for the heaviest box of a “1-man legal limit of 5 silver fish in any combination…Plus up to 10 Ciscoes. Silver fish include salmon, steelhead, whitefish, brown trout, no more than 2 Lakers and up to 10 Ciscoes, (No catfish, carp, sheepshead/drum, bass, pike, walleye or panfish). Everyone receives a raffle ticket at registration for a chance at additional prizes at weigh in. Kid’s 16 and under free. $20 side bet for heaviest fish, 100% payout, $10 50/50 drawing. No charters or professional fishermen…this is an amateur event for an amateur to win. SEPTEMBER: Sat, 16SEP, East Bay – Cisco in the Crisco Veteran’s Invitational, Lines in at 8am to 12pm, free registration begins at 7am at the Elk Rapids Public Boat Launch, be at the ramp to take out no later than 1215pm. Veterans will be matched to boats to accommodate for comfort. Veteran and Boater registration prior to event, via Facebook, our webpage, call Maxine at (231) 944-4669 or email nwmifishing@gmail.com.
